AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE
Purpose: To ensure that the Department of Mental Health (DMH) effectively provides American Sign Language (ASL) services, with qualified personnel to Directly Operated and Contract Programs/Clinics
Protocol: To ensure equitable service for all deaf/hearing impaired consumers and providers requesting American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation services for their clients.
Procedure: Business Hours of Operation: Directly Operated/Contract facilities can request ASL services by emailing their request to the following email address: ARISEAccessibility@dmh.lacounty.gov.
After Hours: Those with hearing or speech disabilities may use their preferred relay service or call 711 to connect with our Help Line. With 711, please ask the operator – who will serve as the interpreter between the caller and our staff – to call our Help Line at (800) 854-7771.
